Darrin York

Director

Prof. Darrin York is a Henry Rutgers University Professor, and distinguished theoretical/computational chemist developing state-of-the-art biomolecular simulation and high-performance computing methods, and is part of the development teams of the AMBER and CHARMM molecular simulation software suites.

Mike

Kar Lun James Chun

Associate Director

James Chun has been a part of Rutgers for over 20 years and have been pushing the boundaries of educational technologies for the past 3 years. His interest lies in finding new and innovative ways to change the instructor and student experience.

Jane

Xiao (Kate) Li

Post-Doctoral Associate

Kate is a post-doctoral researcher with Prof. Darrin York. Her research interest is in chemical education and physical organic chemistry. She joined the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rutgers University since 2018, and has been working on developing chemistry content for eLearning platform and designing active learning material/tools for general chemistry courses. She received her Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry from University of California, Merced in 2016. She is interested in integrating her research experience in mechanistic study and small molecule quantum calculation into chemistry education to deepen and improve students learning .

Mike

Marc Muniz

Professor

Marc N. Muñiz is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. He works with the Cyberlearning Innovation and Research Center (CIRC).Marc is working with CIRC on the development, assessment, and refinement of teaching and learning content for chemistry in active learning and online assessment contexts alike. Using the tools of mixed-methods research, Marc’s team aims to characterize student learning with respect to shifts in their perceptions of meaningful learning, the fidelity of implementation of the curriculum, and the strength of students’ content knowledge.

Jane

Jonathan Tai

Software Developer

Jonathan is an undergraduate student studying computer science and geology at Rutgers University. He is interested in designing and developing web applications for both academic work and leisurely use. Apart from web development, he is also interested in data analytics in the context of the link between climate change and the geological & environmental sciences.
